MICHAEL MALTZAN RECEIVES AN AMERICAN ACADEMY OF ARTS AND LETTERS 2012 ARCHITECTURE AWARD

The American Academy of Arts and Letters recently awarded Michael Maltzan a 2012 Arts and Letters Award in Architecture. The Academy recognizes an American architect whose work is characterized by a strong personal direction. Winners were chosen from a group of individuals and practices nominated by the members of the Academy and selected by a selection committee comprised this year of Henry N. Cobb, Michael Graves, Hugh Hardy, Steven Holl, Ada Louise Huxtable, Richard Meier (chairman), James Polshek, Billie Tsien, and Tod Williams. Awards will be presented in New York City on May 16 at the Academy’s annual ceremonial event with work by winners featured in an upcoming exhibition on view to the public from May 17 till June 10.
