HAMMER MUSEUM
JOHN V. TUNNEY BRIDGE
UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Named in honor of the longtime Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hammer Museum, the new John V. Tunney Bridge is currently under construction.  The pedestrian bridge spans the central courtyard of the museum to connect the Temporary Galleries in the western portion of the building with the Permanent Galleries to the east at the building’s second level.  Recently featured in both the Los Angeles Time and the Architect’s Newspaper, the project is scheduled for completion in February 2015.  The bridge team includes Guy Nordenson and Associates (Structural Design Engineer), John A. Martin & Associates (Structural Engineer of Record), MATT Construction (Contractor), and Plas-Tal Manufacturing Co. (Steel Fabricator).
