WINNIPEG ART GALLERY'S
NEW INUIT ART CENTRE
FEATURED IN
THE GLOBE AND MAIL

MMA’s new Inuit Art Centre at the Winnipeg Art Gallery in Manitoba was featured in The Globe and Mail.  In his description of the design, architectural critic Alex Bozikovic focuses on the relationships between the building’s design and the Inuit art, culture and Northern environments that it celebrates.  He also highlights the tangible urban relationships of the design, noting that the IAC design is “a response, not an extension.  In this way, the design both marks and mends one of the tears in the fabric of downtown Winnipeg. Maltzan has thought deeply about the site on the edge of the historic downtown, and the civic presence of the existing museum.”
