MOODY CENTER FOR THE ARTS & CREST APARTMENTS RECEIVE AIA CALIFORNIA COUNCIL 2017 DESIGN AWARDS

MMA’s Moody Center for the Arts at Rice University and Crest Apartments in Van Nuys were recently recognized with 2017 Design Awards from the AIA California Council. The AIACC Design Awards Program strives to recognize projects that have inspired architectural design thought and exhibit formal, technological, and spatial innovations.

The Honor Award winning Moody Center for the Arts is a state-of-the-art university facility dedicated to the advancement of transdisciplinary collaboration between the arts, sciences, and humanities. Located in Rice’s emerging arts precinct, the project is a distinctive new architectural gateway for the campus.

Crest Apartments, a LEED Platinum permanent supportive housing project that provides 64 homes and comprehensive onsite supportive services for Los Angeles County’s most vulnerable homeless including veterans, received a Merit Award. Located in suburban Van Nuys, California, the building sets a new example of permanent supportive housing and increased density beyond the downtown core.
