MICHAEL MALTZAN HELPS KICK OFF
GETTY’S PACIFIC STANDARD TIME
"MODERN ARCHITECTURE IN LA"

The Getty announced the next installment of Pacific Standard Time: Modern Architecture in L.A. at a press event held at the Capitol Records building in Hollywood on January 14th.  Michael Maltzan and Eric Owen Moss joined Getty representatives and spoke about the tradition of architecture in Los Angeles.  Maltzan acknowledged that many architects are drawn to the creative culture of the City and noted that “The majority that came here and stayed here did so because Los Angeles was a hotbed of creativity and possibility. You can make things here. You’ve always been able to. While that seems like a simple idea—it should be easy anywhere—it isn’t.”

The Getty’s Pacific Standard Time: Modern Architecture in L.A. is the second installment of Pacific Standard Time, the popular series of art and architecture exhibitions and events.  Related exhibitions and programs will be held in and around Los Angeles from April through July 2013.
