SEGERSTROM CENTER FOR THE ARTS GRAND OPENING
The Segerstrom Center for the Arts celebrated the opening of the new MMA-designed Julianne & George Argyros Plaza and Center for Dance and Innovation on Saturday October 28th. The grand opening celebrations included a full day of performances and community events on their Costa Mesa campus from early morning to the late evening hours.
The design for the new Plaza and Center for Dance and Innovation transformed an existing outdoor arts plaza into a vibrant cultural gathering place for the community. Originally an expansive but underutilized public plaza located at the center of the renowned 14-acre arts venue, the new public plaza creates both a programmatically flexible and architecturally inviting performance platform that compliments the Center’s four world-class venues for dance, music, and theater.
