Michael Maltzan Architecture has been selected as one of six architectural firms shortlisted for the design of a new Inuit Art and Learning Centre at the Winnipeg Art Gallery in Manitoba, Canada. The Centre, an addition to the existing Winnipeg Art Gallery, will house the Gallery’s collection of Inuit art, the largest of its kind in the world. In addition to temporary and permanent exhibition galleries, the Centre will include classrooms, studios, and visible storage, research, and conservation areas. The shortlisted firms, selected from 64 Expression of Interest submissions received from fifteen countries, will present proposals for the Centre to the Selection Committee in October.
